Olivier Leflaive Burgundy – perfect for lazy (sunny) afternoons

White Burgundy from Olivier Leflaive by Lay & WheelerA day without tasting wine leaves many in the sales team feeling unsettled and on edge. Thankfully we have two Olivier Leflaive white Burgundy to inspire us today, and what a perfect style to enjoy as the clouds clear to blue skies and the promise of a few whole days of summer to enjoy.

The Bourgogne Blanc is a delight. It always has been. It is of a consistently high quality and is a wine one can open with confidence whatever the occasion. This wine clearly shows its Bourgogne origins, a ripe textured chardonnay with a sense of restraint and balance, at a very keen price.

The Meursault ‘Les Tillets’ is a notable step-up in terms of intensity and persistence of flavour. The vineyard is a cooler site high on the slope. This gives the typically broad and full style of Meursault a racy, mineral edge and an overall tension to the wine.

Tasting these wines it’s easy to see why they are, and for many years have been – very popular with our customers. Even more so given the price inflation of many of the other top domaines in Burgundy. Given the quality and value it’s even easier for us to whole heartedly recommend these wines for drinking and enjoying. See all the Leflaive wines here…
