Bordeaux 2010 New Releases: Gloria, Moulin St Georges & Smith Haut Lafitte

A busy morning today and with the promise of more to come, as there are just a few days until Vinexpo starts in Bordeaux and another potential lull in proceedings.

2010 Château Gloria, St-Julien
£312 per case of 12 bottles in bond
Described by Robert Parker as “a full-bodied, big, thick, well-proportioned, super-endowed Gloria”, the 2010 vintage suited Gloria very well indeed. It shows a perfect balance between the vintage’s structural tannins and St-Julien charm.
Drink: 2015-2025

2010 Château Moulin-St-Georges, Grand Cru St-Emilion
£309 per case of 12 bottles in bond
Owned and managed by the team at Château Ausone, we greatly enjoyed Moulin-St-Georges when we tasted. This is a beautiful, pure and expressive St-Emilion, in contrast to many over-extracted examples.
Drink: 2017-2030

2010 Château Smith-Haut-Lafitte, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan
£897 per case of 12 bottles in bond
Scoring a huge 95-97 points from Robert Parker, Smith-Haut-Lafitte was exceptional this year and ably demonstrates the quality to be found in Pessac-Léognan in 2010.
Drink: 2017-2027
