2006 Tuscany In Bond

It is a truism that the wines of Tuscany defy general characterisation. However, with careful selection there are some fabulous discoveries to be made. The rasp and grip of Sangiovese grown on heavy, limey soil at high altitudes remains, but it is bolstered by the richness of low-yielding clones and, in fact, 2006 is the first vintage in which the use of white grapes in red wine has been officially outlawed.

2006 is an exceptional vintage for the wines of Tuscany, due to near perfect climatic conditions that allowed the production of ripe, powerful wines with depth, vitality and ageing potential. In most cases they were fashioned in the last month of the growing season when warm days and cool nights which allowed full phenolic ripeness to be achieved, whilst maintaining aromatics and acidity.

The wines in our 2006 Tuscany Offer have been carefully selected following extensive tastings. We have literally been able to cherry-pick from leading estates, all offering amazing value for money.
