Bordeaux 2009 Release: Pichon Baron

Pichon Baron is a masterclass in refinement, with fine-grained tannins and a pure, mineral nature that is sure to please traditionalists.

2009 Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron), Cru Classé Pauillac
£996 per case of 12 bottles in bond
Deep in the glass, the aromas are of black fruit, graphite and toast. Revealing considerable density on the palate, this is a compact, taut style with terrific Cabernet fruit in the ascendancy. Layered and refined, with the racy, fine-grained tannins that seem a hallmark of Cabernet this vintage. Long, vibrant, pure and mineral – this continues Pichon’s rich vein of form.
