Bordeaux 2009 Release: La Mission Haut-Brion

The first of the top echelon of wines to be released in this vintage, this is one of the best La Mission ever produced. Powerful and dense, yet retaining an attractive elegance, it was described as being “immortal” by Robert Parker, who gave it one of his highest scores of 98-100 points.

Having swiftly sold out of our first allocation, we are pleased to have secured a small additional parcel of this wine.

2009 Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan
£3120 per case of 6 bottles in bond
Everything is present and correct in this young wine: it is complete, interwoven and seamless. Tannic, yes – albeit very fine-grained and ripe tannin, which balances the rich intensity of the fruit. Powerful and big in one sense, yet incredibly refined and finely-tuned, with a minerality and freshness underpinning the wine. This wine is perfectly pitched: flowing, natural, elegant and long. Very stylish. Superb.
Drinking: 2020-2035
