Bordeaux 2009 Release: Langoa Barton

Langoa-Barton is often said to be the feminine counterpart to Léoville-Barton and this is certainly the expression achieved in this vintage. Graceful and elegant, this is a subtle and attractive St-Julien. A property very much on the rise, the quality difference between Langoa and Léoville-Barton has closed, making this another keen value in this vintage.

2009 Château Langoa-Barton, Cru Classé St-Julien
£480 per case of 12 bottles in bond

Pure, lifted cassis nose – ripe and perfumed. Lovely grace through the mid-palate, giving a layered feel to the fresh berry fruit-laden palate. The tannins are gently mineral on a finish of fresh, fruit skin grip. An elegant Langoa, which shows a classy lightness of touch.
Drinking: 2018-2028
