Bordeaux 2009 Release: Lagrange, St-Julien

Lagrange has always been a favourite of ours, offering a classic and elegant expression of St-Julien. This is certainly the case in 2009, where this wine stands out as beautifully balanced and fresh, showing great poise and charm.

2009 Château Lagrange, Cru Classé St-Julien
£399 per case of 12 bottles in bond

While the nose is quite closed, there is a gradual unfolding of clearly ripe fresh fruit with a slight minty edge. The palate is beautifully layered and of supple, almost velvety texture. A fine concentration of black and red fruit graces the palate and is sustained by a soft but long acidity. This is finely balanced St-Julien, with a good core of fruit and ripe tannins giving a fine-grained, fruit skin grip on the finish.
