Bordeaux 2009 Release: La Tour du Pin

Bought by Cheval-Blanc in 2006 and located right next-door, this property has seen a renaissance of late, culminating in this wonderful 2009. Robert Parker awarded the wine 92-94 points, commenting on its unctuous, yet pure, nature. We were greatly impressed when we tasted, glimpsing in it a touch of the trade-mark Cheval-Blanc charm. We are pleased with the price at which this has released and therefore have no hesitation in recommending this most highly.

 2009 La Tour-du-Pin, St-Emilion
£297 per case of 12 bottles in bond
This has a beautifully scented nose of violets, cloves and ripe red cherries. The lovely fruit intensity on the mid-palate is framed by silky, ethereal tannins and a vein of acidity that make this wine both elegant and concentrated.  Exquisitely balanced, with a persistent finish.
Drinking: 2015-2022

 Robert Parker: 92-94 points
