Bordeaux 2009 Release: Blanc de Lynch-Bages – £117/6

The first dry white that we have offered in this campaign, Blanc de Lynch-Bages impressed us with its attractive balance and fragrant fruit nature. An intricate blend of Sauvignon-Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle, grown in parcels around the Lynch-Bages estate, this is fresh and aromatic, while maintaining the balance and body to reward cellarage.

2009 Blanc de Lynch-Bages, Bordeaux Blanc
£117 per case of 6 bottles in bond
The high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (58%) keeps this fresh and aromatic and the nose is vibrant with aromas of gooseberry, cut grass and citrus. Ripe greengage fruit and a hint of vanillin come through on the palate, adding depth and weight. Freshening acidity and a long, lightly-toasted finish make this a perfect dry white for mid-term cellarage.
Drinking: 2012-2016
