Bordeaux 2009 Release: Potensac

Following yesterday’s relative quiet, today has brought a small flurry of releases, including the good value and classic Potensac. Potensac was one of the Châteaux described by Robert Parker as producing its best ever wine, eclipsing the “stunning 1982”. We were greatly taken with the style of this consistently impressive Cru Bourgeois ourselves and are pleased that it has released at such a sensible price. We believe this is one of the best-value buys in this vintage and a must-have for anyone who enjoys classically-styled Bordeaux.

2009 Château Potensac, Cru Bourgeois Médoc
£183 per case of 12 bottles in bond

Undeniably the best Potensac we have tasted by quite a distance. Carrying the Delon hallmark, this is stylish, with ripe blue and black fruit and notes of graphite. Concentrated and complex, with rich fruit and silken tannins, it should develop nicely in the bottle and has the frame to support a medium to long term future. Drinking: 2015-2022
