Bordeaux 2009 Release: Larcis-Ducasse

Made by the dynamic team of Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt, Larcis-Ducasse demonstrates the modern approach to St-Emilion winemaking. Concentrated and rich in nature, this none-the-less has a restraint and freshness that makes this highly attractive.

2009 Château Larcis-Ducasse,
Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion
£234 per case of 6 bottles in bond
A modern, glossy, concentrated style. Open on the nose, with notes of black berry fruit and a hint of spice. On the palate, there is a rich core of dark cherry fruit, offset by ripe fruit tannins and a vein of minerality. Soft and layered on the palate, this finishes long and with a pleasing freshness. Drinking: 2015-2025

Robert Parker: 91-94 points (Wine Advocate 188)
